and then to Ulster County, New York, and then eventually to Pennsylvania.
The Huguenots were attracted to Pennsylvania for the religious freedom it offered.
Received land patent in PA in the year 1738. Settled in Maxatawny Twsp, Berks Co PA.
Peter Delanghe (Delong) donated the land to the German Reformed (Protestant) Congregation of which
he was a devout member to build a church and cemetery in Bowers, Maxatawny Twsp, Berks Co PA.
To this day an alternate name for that Reformed (now UCC) Church is Delong's Church.
Will Proved 17 May 1760, Register of Wills, Berks County Courthouse, Reading PA.

about the Huguenots. The Delong family is listed therein as a Huguenot family
which fled Roman Catholic France and French controlled areas in the late 1600's.
Descendants then later resettled in Berks County, Pennsylvania, in the early 1700's.
