The first Lautenschlaeger that went to Jagadnaja Polyana, Russia, in 1767 was the following:
Johannes Lautenschlaeger 27 year old Farmer from Erbach (in Odenwald region of Hessen)
and wife Margaretha Elisabeth 28 years old
with son: Johann Nikolaus 1 1/2 years old
In 1798 this clan had grown to:
1) Georg Lautenschlaeger 64 years old...
with sons Nikolaus age 32 who was married to 30 year old Maria Magdalena Frohlich from the village
of Frank Russia--- they had daughters Maria Elisabetha 3 years old and Katharina aged 1/2---
and son Phillip Lautenschlaeger 21 years old married to Katharina Volker....25 yrs
with son Johann Georg age 1/2...
2) a Johannes Lautenschlaeger 24 years old.. married to Margaretha Morasch age 31 with daugher
Magdalena age 5 and daughter Katharina age 2...
MY READING OF THIS IS THAT THAT GEORG LIVING IN 1798 MUST BE THE JOHANNES REFERRED TO
IN THE ORIGINAL SETTLER LIST.... AND THAT HE HAD THREE SONS LIVING IN JAGADNAJA
AT THAT TIME..... nicolaus 32, phiilip 21 and then a Johannes 24 living on his own....
I suppose i could be wrong... but i bet that i am not... the Nikolaus living with
the widower Georg in 1798 must be his son.... and his age is correct.....
I have attached the record showing the Lautenschlaeger emigrant to Jagadnaja Polyana
in 1767...... (translated from Russian into German).
A large group of descendants of this Volga River Lautenschlager family emigrated
from Russia to the USA circa 1901.
