Comments: This was asurprise..I thought I would just look at the Pa.Dutch as I knew that my maternal gg had lived in Pa. and was Swiss born..Her maiden name was Rein but may have been Rhine..I have seen it both ways but seems to be Rein..anyway I am very interested in the info and theory about the East asian connection as both my female cousin and I have a bone formation in the roof of our mouth that I was told was common in Native Americans..I began to research my maternal grandfather's line from Canada and thought perhaps my paternal ggmother was the sourceh but amazingly within the last month I have made contact with a second and third cousin from that line and although their are some questions I have it doesn't seem to be the source..That is why your theory of old genes hit me so...indeed my female cousin and I do share the Swiss German line. I don't know if this is of interest to you and your project but it may be... Ann Atkinson

Comments: I have been to this site numerous times and I am always amazed and filled with pride to be a Kerchner. I am so grateful to Charles for helping fill in the gaps that my grandfather (Andrew Kerchner) never filled in before his death in 1984. I often felt ignorant in the fact that I did not know much about or many of the Kerchners despite the fact that my grandfather came from a family of 13 children. I really believe that there is a need for our children to know and understand their heritage. There is a wealth of information here that I can now share with my own son, whose surname I kept as Kerchner. Thanks!

Comments: I had my DNA tested by both Oxford Ancestors and AncestrybyDNA as knowing who my ancestors are is very important to me. Oxford Ancestors revealed that I am a member of Clan Tara and AncestrybyDNA results came back as 100% European as expected. This finding of 21% "East Asian" ancestry in Mr. Kerchner is very interesting and indicates that more study is needed. It is a shame the professor at the U. of Pennsylvania did not return your e-mails.

It is of great help to me since my ancestors arrived in 1739,on the ship Robert and Alice,in Phildelphia and settled in the rich Limestone areaa of Southeastern PA. The area around Wrightsville, has many items of interest to me. The Dritt House ,South and West of Wrightville,is a historical Landmark. It is in the final stages of renovation and should a cultural landmark. I have had the priviledge to conduct walkthrough tours prior to the present renovation. It was the home of Gen Jacob Dritt(Tritt) who was a soldier in the Rev. War. Thanks for your time, energy and expense in the research and publication of the referenced material.
