Comments: Wonderful site! I already forwarded the link to my Father and sisters. My Father's surname is Baer and we have traced that through the Lutheran Church - Granpa came to the US from Russia in 1902 - Russian German. We traced back to Germany circa, 1610 - I was adopted (my true surname is Eck - and fromwhat I can find, that is also German in origin). I just want to thank you for building this wonderful site. Peace and respect, Jack Charles Baer

Comments: Your pages where very interesting as my father's family were German as I was told as my father could speak German and that is what saved him in ww2 when he was a prisoner of war in Germany. I'm trying to find my grandparents as I know when my grandfather died I have the date and the name of the funeral home but I can not find anything out about them. I keep getting no results when I go to search. Their names were Ferdinand and Mathilida Borchers and thier daughter Anne Borchers married Al Graf. I was able to locate my real father it took me 30 yrs. to do it but I found him and was able to go and meet him in person but he never really spoke of his family as the lady he was married to and his sons won't have anything to do with me being I was from a former marriage so dad didn't say to much. His name was Arthur Walter Borchers and he was from New Jersey.I have his discharge papers and it had the same address on it that was the one that my mom took me to when I was a baby and they were married. I just don't understand why I can't pull them up on the Search and find. It has me baffled. With Kindest Regards, Vicky Borchers Cox Harkness

Comments: Sir, 1. In Nebraska, I ran into a bunch of Kerchner people but they pronounced it Kyker and were part of a large group of people known as Germans from Russia. Basically their ancestors were given land in Russian and exempted from military service and virtually begged to come to Russia and later, a new Russian leader backed off from the guarantees so these people moved to the U.S. in large groups. They are a big outfit and well organized in Nebraska.2. I am a Reitz and Schmidt mixed with Seibel and Hinn but more importantly I am a professional wordsmith, a writer, journalist, author etc. And I love your website. Moreover, you asked if we saw a type or something of that nature, we should inform you with the goal of improving your already good product. I see several places where slight improvements could be made. Mostly, I could cut out a good % of your words without cutting out the meaning or feeling of the otherwise well written introduction. However; it would be labor intensive to give you a list etc. On the other hand, were you to send me your opening statement and whatever else you intend to publish, I would be happy, for free, in the interest of genies everywhere, to make the corrections and send them back and give you the reasons so that if you are concerned enough you can improve your copy editing abilities as well. Comments: My grandparents called me a little Pennsylvania Dutchman. On a recent trip to Germany my German friends insisted that the name Keim was German. When I got home I traced my ancestors from Kansas to Pennsylvania and finally to Speyer, Germany. Speyer is not more than 50km from the spot I visited in Germany. Great site and music. Any help with help on the Keim name would be appreciated.

Comments: I am researching my family history and not having much luck. My Grandparents were Emma and Clair Carl and were either Pa Dutch or German. Both were born in the 1800s and resided in the Allentown, Lehigh area. They used phrases like outen the lights and others. I am at a dead end right now and could use some help!

Comments: I'm sorry; I went to make a comment on your nicknames and wasn't prepared for the rest of this unbelievable site! Could you please add this information to the visit that follows this one. Please add that the people I'm looking for (below) came from Gelsinkirchen, except Reitler who my next door neighbor is looking for. I am interested in hearing about anyone from or that came from Gelsenkirchen. My ancestors settled in Pennsylvania. I am also interested in Nowak/Novak! I think that I'm going to love this site. Wow! all the people! Wait til word gets around! I think that German should have been the national language. (Do you know we lost it to English by one vote??? in 1776??)! Love the music! I'm ready to visit the rest of your sites now!

Comments: I was referred to your website by Ann Thompson of Macungie. Our first American ancestor was Adam Christopher Jacob Kirchner or Andreas Adam Kartchner who was born in Germany about 1733-1734 and died before 1800 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His grandson, William Decatur Kartchner moved west with the Mormon Pioneers. Most of our family is in the Utah, Arizona area.

Comments: The DNA study could be very fruitful in proving ancestry, but I have been involved in a medical study which I am hoping helps patients, such as myself. If the medical aspect can be mapped, it would be an excellent piece of information to pass on with your genealogy. Best of Luck. Donna
