2018 Annual Pilgrimage Program

Union School and Church Association
An annual pilgrimage is sponsored each year by the Union School and Church Association at the schoolhouse on one or more days during the last weekend of June. The original supporting congregations namely Zion's Evangelical Lutheran, Upper Milford Mennonite, and Old Zionsville United Church of Christ offer a joint worship service, lunch, and program. Former students of the school attending the pilgrimage are recognized. Program Coordinator for 2018 is Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
This year is the 72nd Annual Pilgrimage. It will be held on Sunday, June 24th, 2018.
Worship at 10:30 a.m. at Dillingersville School House, 7226 Schoolhouse Lane, Zionsville PA.
It is very informal worship - outside under a huge tent...rain or shine. If the rain should be very heavy, the event will be held at Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5901 Kings Highway, Old Zionsville, PA.

There will be a brass quintet leading the hymns and a combined choir of church members from the three churches which formed the Union School and Church Association in 1799.
After worship, around 11:30 a.m., there will be a lunch of barbecue, macaroni salad, baked beans, water, and soda served for a donation, bake sale, and tours of the school house (it is only one room but full of history). The lunch donation/bake sale proceeds will go to support the schoolhouse.
At 12:30 p.m. there will be entertainment provided by the Lehigh Valley Harmonizers –a men’s choral group singing ‘a cappella’ arrangements in the barbershop style.
Bring your own lawn chairs if you wish. Bring family and friends!
From Emmaus: Route 29 South out of town through light at Shimersville. Bear left at King's
Highway School onto King's Highway. Follow King's Highway, beyond Zion's Lutheran on left
and Old Zionsville UCC on the right. Cross railroad tracks in Zionsville. Turn left onto
Zionsville Road (second left beyond RR tracks). Go up and down the hill following the winding road
for about 1/2 mile. School is on the right at the intersection of Zionsville Road and School
House Lane.
From Quakertown: Route 663 West past turnpike. Turn right onto Geryville Pike at light. Travel
5.5 miles north through Hosensack. Turn right onto Zionsville Road. Go up and down the hill following
the winding road for about 1/2 mile. School is on the right at the intersection of Zionsville Road
and School House Lane.
