My Expected Results were (from prior knowledge): This is an upddated and corrected report received in July. I had already posted an earlier report here. My ancestry comes mainly from two sources: Spanish from the Canary Islands and French from southern France. I was born in Cuba and so were all of my grandparents. My great-grandparents came from the Canary Islands and the southern region of France.

Comments: I am satisfied with my results. I have no known Arabic or Mesopotamian or Turkish ancestries, but I am sure that is coming from Andalucia and Portugal and the people who settled in the Canaries, plus the natives who lived there and/or from ancient migrations into Europe. Sometimes we think we know a lot about ourselves, when we really still have a lot to learn/discover. I have neither the money nor the time for deep genealogical reasearch or family trees, so I decided to give DNA Tribes a chance. I know the identity of all of my great-great grandparents, but I have not gone further than that. They originated in La Palma, La Gomera and Tenerife, in the Canary Islands and others in southern France, not too far from the Spanish border.

Comments: See results posted previously. These results fit long term family genealogical and oral history. Family is from northwest foothills and mountains of South Carolina. History records a connection between Madagascar's rice and slave trade and the early coastal colonial plantation society. The Cherokee sometimes adopted slaves into their villages along with Europeans and other Indians. Also from an Extended Match Report ordered at the same time, there is entry #31 "African-American (South Carolina, U.S.A.) (0.32) 427.59". The lack of Cherokee DNA profiles probably accounts for the European-Indian-African mixed matches from Brazil.

My Expected Results were (from prior knowledge): All known surnames are British Isles. I have cousins who have a dark complexion so i was surious about an Native American influence. my brother had traced our ancestry back about five generations and forward from England but there was a gray area of 1 or 2 generations that could not be proven or connected. He suggested I take the test and we split the charges.

Comments: I was pleasantly surprised how my late Polish father dominated my scores. And Brazil was a complete surprise, probably from my adopted Grandma! (My uncle is undergoing an M-tDNA test now.) I am puzzled by the high Norway & Iceland hits. I have only one Norwegian (Lein) on my tree, way back in 1600. And my maternal uncle just tested NW Ireland R1b1b2e M222 (Niall Modal). Yet, Norway & Iceland are high up my tree. And Ireland doesn't appear until #33. So, all seems normal, other than the strong unknown Viking versus known Irish.

My Expected Results were (from prior knowledge): Results expected were Hungarian-Jewish with some Sephardic Jewish and possibly Mizrachi Jewish and ethnic Hungarian. Our family is recently (last 200 years) 100% from Hungary. Genealogical research indicates that of the approximate 41 end-branches of our family tree almost all appear with no religion indicated...some continue as such for many generations, many appear with no place of birth, etc. Family traditions include Izraelite (non-religious Jewish), Nobility (2 paternal grandfather lineages), "not Hungarian", and immigrants from Transylvania. YDNA = E1b1b1a; no matches at 0,1,2,3, etc. mtDNA = H5a; no matches until distance of 2 mutations. Other haplogroups among grandparent/great-grandparent lineages. YDNA: R1a1 (Levi-Sephardic), G2 (Izraelite). mtDNA: K2a (Ashkenazi-Sephardic), T* (Jewish, Celtic, and French Canadian matches).

Comments: We did expect to see the Sephardic and Mizrahci tribes appear in our Top results as we believe several of our lineages are from Spain and there is a tradition of Mizrachi Jews settling in the home town of my paternal family. I'm guessing post-Inquisition migration to Northern Italy and Istanbul/Turkey are going to be the Sephardic mutations that match us in the DNA Tribes results. A group of researchers believe that Israeli Arabs are the closest genetically to the indigenous population of ancient Israel. Family tree research did indicate that our family immigrated to Hungary during the later 1700s and 1800s from Moravia and other places unspecified. Based on surnames and traditions with these autosomal results (and the 15 STR test results) we believe it suggests migration from Spain, Poland, and Transylvania. Skin and blood cells were used to get these results. This was the second time I tested and provided a new DNA sample. Both results show identical STRs at 15 loci and identical strongest match for Native and Global population match (Veneto, Italy), second test was 21 STR upgrade and included 6 additional STR loci.

My Expected Results were (from prior knowledge): On my father's side surname is German; genealogy records also show England, Scotland, Switzerland,France, Ireland etc. Through his side the records (if accurate of course) show that we have some lines that tie in with English royalty into France. Also a line that goes through William the Conqueror. Also have some Jewish surnames in German line and he ties in with the Mayflower group through his mother. My mother's genealogy records are mostly Danish (her mother was born in Denmark) with some from England. Both parents have had DNA Tribes testing. Father is Northwestern European on world region followed by Arabian, North India, Mediteranean. My mother's analysis is not one that is frequently seen, her world region scores were Eastern India, North Africa, Levantine, etc., hardly any European matches at all. I did not know what to expect for my matches other than I expected some strong European matches given family history records and that I have red hair.

Comments: I am somewhat blown away that I seem to have very little DNA common to European populations. Apparently, I inherited some of my mother's DNA that is not all that common in European populations; my DNA is less common in Europe but more common in the Near East and India. It was explained to me by Lucas at DNA Tribes that my MLI scores reflect maternal genetic material present at low frequencies in Europe and more common to populations in the Near East and India.

My Expected Results were (from prior knowledge): As an adoptee, I really had no idea what to expect. I'm 42 years old, and only learned a bit about my biological family a couple years ago (although I've always known I was adopted). I even met a cousin, who looks very much like me, and my sister, who was also adopted. Our mother had four kids; the eldest two grew up with her, while we were placed for adoption, I assume due to her financial situation, plus the fact that we were born out of wedlock (she was separated from her husband). I had thought that probably there was a considerable amount of northwestern European in me, as well as perhaps a few surprises. In any case, I had no preconceived ideas of what to expect, and went into this with a completely open mind.
My Actual DNA Tribes Analysis Results - Native Match Strong/Strongest and Respective MLIs were: I had no "strong" or "strongest" matches. Everything was in the "low" to "lowest" category, which I assume implies that I have "well-mixed" genes. Here are my top 20 results: Finland 13.32, Serbia and Montenegro 11.97, Pakistan 10.37, Finland 8.78, Serbia 7.17, Podlasie, Northeast Poland 7.15, Budapest, Hungary 6.98, Pomerania-Kujawy, Northern Poland 6.64, Finland 6.23, Poland 5.54, Slovenia 5.53, Turkey 5.52, Slovenia 5.42, Norway 5.39, Italy 5.31, United Arab Emirates 5.25, Lodz, Poland 5.15, Netherlands 5.08, Szekler (Romania) 5.05, Lodz, Poland 4.93.
My Actual DNA Tribes Analysis Results - Global Match Strong/Strongest and Respective MLIs were: I had one "strongest" in this category; everything else was "middle" or lower. The results: European-Aboriginal (mixed) (Western Australia) 27.31, Pakistani (United Arab Emirates) 15.82, Finland 13.32, Serbia and Montenegro 11.97, European-Aboriginal (mixed) (Western Australia) 11.06, Pakistan 10.37, Indian (Malaysia) 9.60, Finland 8.78, Caucasian 8.73, European-Aboriginal (mixed) (Northern Territory, Australia) 7.39, Serbia 7.17, European-Aboriginal (mixed) (New South Wales, Australia) 7.17, Podlasie, Northeast Poland 7.15, Budapest, Hungary 6.98, Pomerania-Kujawy, Northern Poland 6.64, South Asian (United Kingdom) 6.60, Caucasian (New South Wales, Australia) 6.25, Finland 6.23, European-Aboriginal (mixed) (Riverine Region, Australia) 6.09, Caucasian (Northern Territory, Australia) 5.91.

Comments: To be honest, I'm not really surprised about anything on the report, although I had assumed that there would be more German, English, Irish, and French (and apparently there's just about everything else but!). But it seems like the predominant influences are Finnish, Pakistani, and various flavors of Slavic (Serbia, Poland). The "Budapest, Hungary" is not surprising either, as these fit with the strongly Finno-Ugric profile that this report draws. I realize that physical characteristics are fairly meaningless, but for the record, I have blond hair and blue eyes, and would certainly not look out of place in Finland. My skin is basically fair, although I tan fairly well, and my eyes, while large and round, turn slightly downwards on the sides. My sister seems to have more Slavic characteristics than I, especially with her dark hair. Also, I'm guessing that the Pakistani-North Indian-Arab influences mentioned on the report are probably representative of Roma peoples ("gypsy") in my ancestry. On the whole, I am very pleased with my report, and am excited to finally learn the origins of my DNA. I've also ordered DNA Tribes' Europa test, to see if it can give me a clearer breakdown of my European origins.

Comments: The Afghan side turned out to be true however instead of Iranian I see Sicilian ancestry. Also the native and world population match are similar however the world region match show Mestizo. This really confuses me? Is Afghanistan part of north indian region and how come i have mestizo region and not sicilian.

Can understand the arabian and latin american more because on fathers side one or two of great aunts struck me a bit arabic look with thick lips even paternal grandfather had thick lips. Hey thinking about thick lips are connected with negroic populations so there could be some truth in this. It must be way back how far back can these test go.

Comments: After studying samples on their site, it seems that my low numbers are because of mixed European, Cherokee, and African ancestry. I was a little surprised at African ancestry, but it fits the history of the southeast where my family lived, that is colonial contact with the Lower Cherokee, including adoption of slaves and free people of African ancestry. Also the lack of Cherokee or even Iroquoian populations could account for the lower numbers as well. And after reading much here and elsewhere on the net, it seems that mixed-bloods like myself tend to get these kind of results. The closest "mixed" population my profile can match is in Brazil. But it does confirm my genealogical and family info to some degree and raise more questions!

Comments: I had hoped the 21 marker upgrade would finally produce a Top 20 Jewish match to affirm my majority ancestry (R1b1c, M269+, ht35 equivalent) but these matches seem broadly correct, especially my World Region compared to that of the Ashkenazi sample.pdf. I had also hoped for further definition of maternal ancestry (C1c on FGS and 31% NA on AbDNA2.5) but seem to find that only in my Extended Report and Native American Panel where low scoring top matches to MN Native Americans return full-circle to results on my first Tribes analysis of March 2006 when, based on 9 markers, my top matches were to MN Native Americans. I do not feel I have wasted my time or money. I have learned something by working with my markers on CFS, ENFSI and Omnipop and Tribes upgrades/updates have come in regular and affordable stages. For these resaons, I prefer Tribes to the 'black box' output of AbDNA.

My Expected Results were (from prior knowledge): Most of my ancestors came from Spain's Canary Islands and southern France, not far from the Spanish border, near Toulouse. My paternal haplogroup is R1B1C and my maternal haplogroup is H, according to FTDNA tests. Some of the results were expected or suspected. Northern Portugal, Andalucía and the Basque Country make sense. All of these people probably settled in the Canaries after the Spanish conquest of the islands. The French area is also close to the Basque Region. I was intrigued by the Northern India/Pakistan and Arabian results, but also the many Romanian matches, Greece and Asia Minor. I was born in Cuba and so were my parents and granparents. Great granparents etc. the Canary Islands and France. The results I received seem reasonable, even though I do not understand them yet.
My Actual DNA Tribes Analysis Results - Native Match Strong/Strongest and Respective MLIs were: Northern Portugal (0.74)32.02; Pakistan (0.76)27.71; Northern Greece (0.64)23.74; Andalucía,Spain (0.53)22.01; Szekler,Romania (0.66)20.62; Slovenia (0.55)20.53; Basque (0.82)19.75; Csango, Romania (0.42)19.49; Spain (0.5)14.42; Bangladesh (0.59)16.61; UK (0.51)14.42. At the end of the list: Germany (0.43)11.46 and Vienna, Austria (0.44)10.91.
My Actual DNA Tribes Analysis Results - Global Match Strong/Strongest and Respective MLIs were: These are basically the same locations as above, except that, after Portugal, which is still top on the list, there is a UK South Asian population (0.77)30.62. In addition, there is Caucasian Fla. USA (0.57)15.99, and a Indian (Singapore) pop. (0.44)13.26
My Actual DNA Tribes Analysis Results - World Region Match Strong/Strongest and Respective MLIs were: The top ten on this list were: Northern India (0.91)93.89; India (0.75)44.40; India Tribal(0.65)19.33; Arabian(0.68)19.33; Asia Minor (0.73)12.76; Mediterranean (0.42)8.04; N.West European(0.41)6.98; North African(0.35)5.39 and Finno-Ugrian (0.3)4.01

Comments: I took the test without expecting specific results. I kept my expectations low. I did suspect I would get Portuguese/Spanish and other European matches based on what I know about my ancestors. However, I did not expect to get any matches in Eastern Europe or Northern India. But I think they make sense in a way, considering all the ancient migrations. I think I am happier with my results than many other people, according to the comments I have read. If I were to judge based on phenotypes, then I would say most are represented in my familiy, including the N.Indian and Arabian ones, but also the blond, blue-eyed ones. I had no Native American matches, nor did I expect any.

Comments: As you can see above most matches are African, or African -American. Yet I, and my family going back 4 generations before me, as well as my 3 children and 4 grandchildren are all fair skinned to very light skinned, and most of us have blonde hair and blue eyes, narrow noses, and other characteristics that do not look African at all. And all my genealogical information goes back to Europe. Is it logical that I have ALMOST NO DNA similarity with Europeans? When I questioned DNATribes on how this was possible this was the answer: "Results indicate that you have inherited DNA that is most common in some parts of Africa. However TribeScores indicate that your match scores in West and Southern Africa are outside the ordinary range of (0.25) and above. This indicates that while there is genetic material shared with African populations, your DNA profile would not be ordinary or typical for an African person. Overall, TribeScores are highest in the North African genetic region, which is part of the Caucasian (European and Near Eastern) family of regions. As new data become available, it might become possible to clarify these results in the future. " My two highest TribeScores in the Native Population Match were Oman (0.44) but with MLI only 6.96; Egyptian Berber (0.4) with MLI only 8.39; but my second highest TribeScore overall was in the Global Population Match. It was African-American with TribeScore (0.43) and MLI 50.28. I then pointed out to DNATRibes that if less than (0.25) TribeScore is outside the ordinary or typical range for an African person, as they stated, wouldn't that mean my family was an anomaly for European-looking people since the only European indicators were my Mediterranean TribeScore of (0.1) with MLI of 1.20 and Northwest European score of (0.05) with MLI of 0.67. The response: "Results indicate your DNA profile obtains a TribeScore of (0.05) for the Northwest European genetic region. This is at the threshold between the expected range (0.05 and above), and what is unusual for individuals from this part of the world (below 0.05) in our present database. However, it might become possible to clarify these results as new data become available in the future." This sounds about as logical as saying: "Even though it is midnight, there is enough light present at various places to be beyond the threshold of what is called daytime." Or "Even though the clock says it is noon right now, and it appears to be noon, there is enough darkness present in the shadows and at various places to qualify it to be called night." Either my data or their test was compromised, or they have far too small a database, and/or accurate processes to call this science in any sense.

Comments: My results are a little confusing. Scotland, Ireland? I also had my dad's done to compare results. I don't understand how his results of Native Pop Matches are primarily Ireland,Scotland, Poland,France, Norway, Sweden with Spain being 2nd to the bottom at 4.07 when all surnames as far back as we can trace are hispanic and then his top World Region Match result is Mestizo 6.75. I also cannot undersand why for example his Northern Ireland native match is 34.40 and mine is 2.45.

Comments: This update contains 2 new markers (Penta D and E). The results were disappointing as usual even with the addition of two new markers. Any one looking at these results would think that I'm Asian. The only Asian physical characteristic I have is epicanthal eyefolds but my eyes are large. It is found in both sides of my family. My maternal grandfather and paternal grandmother both had eyes like this. I had my mtDNA analyzed and it was U5 with mutations 224C and 270T. Presumably, these mutations are North African and associated with the Guanches(the original inhabitants of the Canary Islands). The Guanches were supposedly of Berber origin. My maternal grandfather also had Berber y-DNA (Eb2). My father's mtDNA was the biggest surprise since it was L1b(sub-Saharan Africa)and at least confirmed DNAPrint 2.5 sub-Saharan African at 12% which I thought was a little high. Paper research and oral history back to around 1750 reveals no African ancestor so it must be further back than this. I can't really recommend DNATribes until my top matches are not Asian. Perhaps they just don't use enough markers to get accurate results.

Comments: Results bear no resemblance to reality. Possible reason might be that there has been an unusual mix of ancestry, as the World Region MLI values are very low and little better than random. Most English ancestors had been established in London as merchants for centuries, and this is an unusual source of immigrants to Australia and New Zealand - most early immigrants from the UK came from rural areas as rural workers were required in both colonies. It's intriguing that our known haplotypes (R1b1c* and T1) are common in the UK despite the DNA Tribes results not finding matches from there. The direct maternal line comes from Devon, and the only known mtDNA hig-res match also comes from Devon, supporting evidence for at least one line of UK ancestry.

Comments: I updated earlier results because there are now some UK samples, and two new markers had been include (Penta D and Penta E). Surprised to find strong matches to Spanish and Portugese populations, as I have no known ancestors from there. UK does now figure in my matches but previous Scottish matches have dropped out. Also, I no longer match Australian Caucasian populations as I did before. My World Region matches are sensible (except for North Africa), but the MLI figures are comparatively low, which is to be expected from my mixed ancestry. I wonder if my Spanish/North African influence comes from a single doubtful ancestor 5 generations back, or if it's simply interwoven with much European ancestry generally.

Comments: (Note: This is an update to my earlier test (4/07) in which it indicated my strongest match was Switzerland and my middle was Northeast Spain. Actual results versus expected results where a bit of surprise since I have researched all family lines back to at least the early 1800's. My genealogical research indicated a British Isles ancestry at about 75% with some German (10%), French Mediterranean (10%) and Native American (Iroquois) (5%). On the other hand, I do more closely resemble the people of the Iberian Penninsula (physically speaking) than I do the British Isles ie: brown curly hair and brown eyes and olive skin. I'm thinking my true "deep" ancestry is probably Portuguese from both a) Celtiberians that moved north to the British Isles after the Romans conquered Iberia about 100 B.C. b) Some descent from Roman soldiers stationed in the British Isles who were from Hispania c) Posible descent from the "aulde alliance" between England and Portugal dating back to the 1300's (both trade and military) d) some descent from Portuguese soldiers in the Spanish Army during the occupation of the Netherlands and the Spanish Armada.

My mother's family is French Huguenot, English and Irish from the American South and have been in the USA since the 1600's and on the Outer Banks of North Carolina since the early 1700's. I would expect to see strong Northwest European, Mediterranean, Spanish, and Basque components and possibly North African and or Arab from the days of the Moor's in Spain. American Indian and Sub-Saharan African are also possible. My Y Haplogroup is G2 with characteristics similar to those of G2s in Eastern Anatolia.

Comments: This is an update to see if things changed with the addition of more groups of people to DNA Tribes database. I think the results are more accurate. Since I received the first DNA Tribes results I have found Jewish ancestry from the Ha-Levi/Santamaria family in my father's family and found a strong indication of American Indian ancestry in my mother's family. I suspect that the African connection is from the GGmother from Cadiz but that family and the family of the French GGmother are still a cipher and I know next to nothing about them. The husband of the GGmother from Cadiz was a Gallego from La COruna in NW Spain and though his name was Prieto he was very fair.

Comments: I was very surprised that Sicilia did not appear at all and that Sweden was the strongest. I expected some Northern European since part of my family is fair, and Sicly was ruled by the Normans for a long period, but I didn't expect it to be so dominant or that countries such as Ireland and Denmark would have higher ratings than Southern Italy. I'm not at all surprised to see North African or Arabian, since there were such influences in Sicily. I don't understand why Toscana and other places appear twice, so I would appreciate an explanation, if anyone knows. I also don't understand how they arrived at Caucasian (in the Global( and Italy without a region in the Native. My mother was also tested and I will post her results, but they raise more questions.

My Expected Results were (from prior knowledge): Was surmissing from test areas that Yemen would be the "Arab" part and Portuguese as the European because of the slave trade.
My Actual DNA Tribes Analysis Results - Native Match Strong/Strongest and Respective MLIs were: The composite actually boiled down to this and I check with their geneticist and he thought I was on the mark: 1. Hugely: South African of the Tsongan tribe (direct descendants of Shaku Zulu) and the Tswana of Botswana but many others including Xhosa, Zulu and Hutu; followed by much lesser amounts of W. African and E. African. 2. Next Middle Eastern/Arab ( Arab of all sorts high amounts from Oman, a lot of Egyptian and some Jordanian and United Arab Emirate). 3. Then lots of North African--especially Morocco, Tunisia and a bit of Berber. 4. This is almost tied with the North African--Mediterranean/Europe primarily southern Italy but a lot of Spanish of many different types and quite a bit of Portuguese from all over. 5. This is followed by a dab of South American/Mestizo (lots of Afro-Brazilian, Costa Rican, some Cape Verde, generic of Hispanic & others). 6. Asian: North India, also Chinese Turkestan and Turkish 7. Then a smidgen of Aboriginal Australian and Polynesian in even tinier amounts. 8. And last but not least, seemingly a combo that constitutes Roma (Gypsies). 9. The tinniest bits of NW European (Irish/Scottish/Wales) and surprisingly slightly more Eastern European (Macedonia, Estonia, Poland)

Comments: I was pretty floored. I assumed for many years the West African and I just generally thought I knew who I was by paper trail and knowing what I know about history. The Yemeni is from the Ghaza Empire occupying the Tsonga people of South Africa. I'm assuming the Mediterranean is Portuguese. The funny thing is everything kind of checks out historically apart from the Polynesian and they were able to go to many of the seaside places my people hail from. The Portuguese, Turkish, Northwest & Eastern European combined with the Indian seems to point to some Romani in the family. The North African and Yemeni are a total surprise. When thrown into my geographic history suggests Melungeon. I wasn't surprised by but had no solid evidence before about the Mestizo, Brazilian or Trinidadian which popped up. I was and am amazed by this report. Kind of knocked all the air out of me. When you think you know who you are and find out differently, well...it's going to take some time to integrate this information into my mind.

Comments: The relatively high concentration of North African, East Indian, and Middle Eastern results were interesting and surprising, given that my research has not uncovered any family origins in these regions. I will be interested to see as I research our ancestry further, whether it is possible to establish a paper trail to identify specific ancestry in these regions. I'm still waiting on other test results (FTDNA Mega and ABDNA EuroDNA 2.0) that might provide additional information to help complement these results and provide clues for further research.

Comments: I thought I might share this to maybe open someone's else's eye's to the possible reason for unexpected results, as you might be suprised at what history your grandparents may be hiding from the family.... . When I got the results I was kinda thrown off initially by even having a little Native American, with Canadian & Central American Indian, Plus a pretty high Mestizo score overall for my results.. I know many question their results, as I had, since my grandmother strongly denied any type of "indian blood" on my mom's side the day I told her my results. This afternoon I decided to ask if she knew where her mother and father were from to try and go off that. She replied without hesitation that her family had no "indian" because her father was "Black dutch" and her mother was French. I asked what the black dutch looked like and she said that part of the family had black hair and black eyes(!!!) We as a family have no super strong physical resemblance to what many might consider "Indian features" and I really questioned the initial results, but she had never had a reason to bring up the black dutch background till I had specifically asked and still denies the "indian" hit is from her family, though I now question that after researching "black Dutch" in the South.

My Expected Results were (from prior knowledge): Family members had traced my mom's-father's line and my Dad's-father's line back to Virginia/Kentucky area to around the mid 1600's, with the typical English/Irish rumored history. No real knowledge beyond that and no real knowledge of the wives of these men, therefore I kept an open mind about what the result might show. I am Caucasian and always knew/assumed there was the obvious European connection but pretty much assumed I was a "mutt", and was curious to see what this test would show. Out of Curiosity I added the Native American Panel, though I didn't expect much, I was suprised at even the little smidge I did get. Being from the South I wish the Southern Native Americans were included since there is a lot of history in that area with Cherokee, though I have not heard of anything recent in my family.
My Actual DNA Tribes Analysis Results - Native Match Strong/Strongest and Respective MLIs were: No super strong/high hit but did verify the section of the world you might expect for my background considering world empires and human movement.. Comments: I kept an open mind and when you really think about human movement and World Empires, etc, the results were not a huge suprise. There was the expected family results for Caucasian-Virgina, but there were some interesting finds ( who knows where they are from or how old they are). The most unexpected was the native American Panel, which showed a very, very miniscule, but solid hit for Dogrib/Canada(.84) and, Athbaskan(.60) to include the smidge of arctic. This was most interesting because my mother and I have slightly squinted eyes and many times in my life people have asked if we had an Asian or Eskimo background. Granted this test result could be from the Neolithic human migration DNA since we know of no such family connection, but we found it interesting. Additionally, on the Caucasian Comparison results I found am not as "pure",you might say, as other sampled Caucasians. My Caucasian comparison results indicated I have "very, very high" results for Arctic, North Amerindian, ,Central Amerindian & Amazonian??...Only about 2% of other sampled Caucasians have my amounts, so I really am a "mutt".

Comments: I ordered an update on my first test results dating from May 2007 since DNA Tribes had added 2 additional markers and I see a HUGE difference - Mongolia is no longer #1 in my list of matches and these new results closely match what my paper research says about my origins. I am completely satisfied with the DNA Tribes test now and no longer think that some huge mistake was made in the lab :D. The Uzbek match is still a little puzzling, but maybe there was a Turk or Ottoman somewhere in the Hungarian branch of my family tree?

Comments: Different from results of first test done five months earlier mainly due to addition of two new markers -Penta D and Penta E. - I believe much closer to Jewish Middle Eastern origins . Earlier test showed North African followed by Mediterranean as being main Wold Regions. Matches to Basques and Berbers as well as Mahgreb were much reduced in this newer version Still expected matches to other Jewish population sample ( sefardic and Middle Eastern)

My Expected Results were (from prior knowledge): All my prior personal family knowledge and 30 years of genealogy research indicates I am mostly of Northern Irish and English origin with some German and French and a little Native American (Iroquois).
My Actual DNA Tribes Analysis Results - Native Match Strong/Strongest and Respective MLIs were: (Strongest) = Switzerland 97.5, (Middle) = Northeast Spain 69.3, (Low) = Szekler (Romania) 43.9, Kurdish (Northern Iraq) 41.7, Pakistan 40.7, Northern Portugal 40.1, Portugal 35.9, Lombardia (Italy) 32.1

Comments: Actual results compared to expected results: I was very surprised I did not have high matches in the British Isles (especially Northern Ireland). I also expected some middle matches in Germany and France. I have been doing genealogy for 30 years now and have documentation of my British Isles ancestry and have been there and seen the homes, churches, records of my ancestors. My great grandfather Irwin is from Co Tryone, Northern Ireland and my great grandmother Valentine is from Lancashire, England. Surprises: Switzerland being so high (I believe this could be the Continental Celts who were driven out of the Alps by Caesar and the Romans and fled with the Gauls first to Belgica and then England around 50 BC). Northeast Spain made sense since I have French Mediterranean ancestry which is close by. The Romanian, Kurdish and Pakistani matches lead me to think there is Old English "Romany" (Gypsy) ancestry in the family as part of my family is from SE England (Kent) which to this day has a sizable number of Roma.

Comments: I was shocked at the high Mongolian and Central Asian scores, I think it could be due to the Hungarian influence in my genetics, my Native American ancestry, or a combination of both. The Hispanic reference is really confusing because none of my family has been traced to that ethnic group. I'm also surprised that I received no scores for England although a good deal of my ancestry originates there. I have no scores for Switzerland either but my scores from northern Italy and Austria could have originated from there since they are neighboring countries. If DNA Tribes ever includes scores from southeastern Native American tribes I'll update my results, because I think it could make a huge difference. I may try a DNAPrint test next, maybe it'll help to clarify what I've seen in my results.

Comments: I am totally confused. I got no yellow or orange dots on my native map and only 1 red for Tunisia. What could that mean? I had several blue scattered throughout Asia and the middle East. I don't understand my results at all. I certainly don't get all these Asian and Indian results. I am one fourth Cherokee and the rest European descent. I have researched my family history for 10 years and other than the Cherokee (which is prominent), everything I found came from the British Isles or Germany. I had an admixture test done a few months ago that said 77% European, 22% Native American, 1% African and 0% Asian. On my global map I had one yellow square in East Timor. On the world region map I have a few tiny circles in Europe but my large circles are in India, Japan and Turkey. I just don't get it. I need help!
